Tennis Facilities and Programing at Corolla Light Resort

Guests of all playing levels can enjoy our two indoor clay courts, four outdoor clay courts, and four outdoor hard courts.

The two indoor clay courts may be rented by guests for only $20/hr.

The four outdoor clay courts may be rented by guests for only $15/hr.

Proper clay court shoes are required for play on ALL clay courts.

Outdoor hard courts are available at no charge.

Tennis Camps:  Corolla Light Tennis is committed to providing quality tennis instruction in a safe, competitive, fun filled environment, were players can focus on tennis and be themselves. The goal of the camp is to help each individual player develop their game through tactical knowledge, skill development, leadership, teamwork, and personal character development. Tennis Vacations: In the summer season, the Tennis Staff is happy to help you turn your summer rental into a tennis vacation. We can setup a tennis package or clinics, lessons, and court time to fit almost any vacation budget.

In the off-season, the Tennis Staff works with the homeowners association to provide tennis packages at an incredible value to vacationers. Packages for groups start at $100 per day including instruction, and meals can be included for a small additional fee.

Tennis Staff: We have three USPTA instructors and two hitting partners available to work into your schedule. Justin is an assistant coach at Methodist University and is attending Methodist for its Professional Tennis Management Certification. Marvin is a former high school coach with a USPTA P1 Certification. Tennis Director, Jim has 30 plus years teaching experience in various subject areas. In addition to USPTA certification, he is also involved in tennis as the Outer Banks Tennis Association President, Currituck Tennis Association Board Member, USTA local league coordinator, and runs the Dare County Tennis Camp and Tennis Clinics. Visiting Tennis Pros will be available at different times throughout the year.

Clinics: Corolla Light Tennis supports a regular schedule of indoor and outdoor clinics. Clinic offerings include: Quick Start programming for Beginners age 5 through Adult; Cardio Tennis for players and non-players looking for a new workout; and Hitting Clinics for Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced players. The Tennis Staff is always available to setup a customized clinic to fit your group’s needs.

Lessons: Private lessons are available, schedule permitting, from 6am till 9pm. Our expanded staff can handle any tennis request for instruction ranging from the newest beginner to the advanced college player with hopes of breaking onto the tour. 

Hitting Partners: In addition to a hitting session with the Pros, guests can request a session with one of our staff Hitting Partners.  These players range in skill level from current High School players, to players with advanced USTA ratings. 

Tournaments: Corolla Light offers a Men’s, Ladies’, and Mixed Tournament each week. The draw is limited to eight teams. We will also offer USTA sanctioned tournaments in 2011.

The Pro Shop:  We offer a full line of Wilson products including the new BLX racquets that have received rave reviews in Tennis Magazine. Demos are available to try with new frames ready to be customized to meet your needs.

Corolla Light Tennis stocks three different styles of tennis shoe, all of which are safe to play on clay courts. We have all available sizes for men, women, and juniors.

We carry an extensive array of accessories, including Wilson, Luxilon, and Head strings. In addition, our tennis stringing is the only USRSA certified shop on the Outer Banks.
