Corolla Light Beach

Corolla beaches have been highlighted on numerous top ten beach lists, and it's easy to see why since they're some of the widest, cleanest beaches you'll find anywhere on the Outer Banks. With a gently sloping drop-off, it's easy for all ages to play in the surf. There are life guard stations at the Oceanfront Complex and at the northern and southern ends of our beach.  Please check out our beaches on our Corolla Surf Cam

Five lighted walkways with gazebos provide easy beach access. Regardless of whether your home is oceanside or soundside, getting to the beach is a breeze on the Corolla Light trolleys. Don't feel like carrying beach chairs and an umbrella with you? No problem - Corolla Light Beach Rentals will set up reserved chairs and umbrellas for you!

For a change of pace, those arriving in a 4WD vehicle can head 2 miles north of Corolla Light and drive right onto the sand. As you drive up the beach you might even see some of Carova's famous wild colonial Spanish mustangs, descended from stock brought by Spanish explorers in the late 1500's. No 4WD? No problem - take a tour you'll never forget!

If you do drive onto the beach and wish to park your vehicle, from Memorial Day through Labor Day county ordinance requires the purchase of a beach parking permit. County Ordinance also requires drivers air-down their tire pressure to below 20 lbs so their vehicle is less likely to get stuck in the sand. Drivers can re-inflate their tires for free at the Historic Corolla Park, which is located on the west side of N.C. 12. Enter at main park entrance and turn right into parking lot. Air stations are located at the end of the lot near the picnic pavilion.

Corolla Light - your destination for an unforgettable Outer Banks beach vacation!
